Doug, that was fantastic. The active duty was amazing, the Enterprise’s “shipyard” if you will and the gunslinging (oh my, I don’t wanna mess with you sir. ) were way way way interesting and exciting, but the home movies of the promenade?
Damn. That set should have been preserved or something, that was a thing of beauty. That and the theme tune made me all sentimental, and then ending it with the end of DS9, well, damn you, trying to make me tear up
It was well worth the wait. Keep em coming Doug, I love these things.
Anyone else in the US having trouble viewing this? I was able to watch the first few videos Doug posted, but the last two active duty video’s don’t show up at all for me.
I get nothing but a white screen when I click the link. Of course, my computer is older than dirt so the video might be too much for my tired old video card to handle. I’m gonna see if I can MacGuyver around this problem, because from the other messages here it sounds like it’s a hoot-and-a-half!
Congrats Mr.Doug!! Everything today has come up roses(much like my beloved WI Badgers I might add)! Thank you VERY much for this new post and the news it brings forth, the ‘Gang’ will ride again for a cleaning party of TNG! Thanks to Jorg as always with his ‘Spock’ on the spot info as well, live long and prosper buddy!!!
Freakin’ amazing! Love the gun slinging! Watching how fast that gun spin around so fast is almost hypnotic and I can’t help but smile everytime I see it! Eaves and his meatloaf! Something about that Archer’s Theme that melts me heart everytime. And then, finish it up with a personal tour of the Promenade? That made my heart ache! Vince’s Gym on the directory! Finally saw it! Everyone did a fantastic job with their SOTL animations! Woo! Going to have to watch this again!
Thanks for servin’ up a heapin’ helpin’ of goodness, Doug! DTV never disappoints!
This is probably my favourite DrexTV so far. Seeing you geeking out over Thell Reed is brilliant! I can’t be the only one, when he’s saying about “it’s gotta be smooth… all around the edges, here, here…” who was thinking “Microbevel the edges. Get that spec hit in.”
Then, o’course, the Promenade Directory O’Yuks. Thanks so much for sharing, man.
Yes, the Promenade directory is quite the grin-inducer. Doug and his colleagues probably need to be careful when doing the remastering for TNG, and hopefully the follow-ups….
1. The animated stuff was top drawer as usual; well done to all involved.
2. You’re quite the gun hand now, Doug and I really enjoyed watching you mark out over meeting Thell Reed. I love westerns and would love to know how your meet with Thell goes next week and if you do make it into a western film or TV episode.
3. Those DS9 sets once again blew me away with how complete they were, with ceilings and everything really creating the impression that you were on a space station. God how I miss that show! Time to break out the DVDs again!
Made me want to watch ‘The Quick and the Dead’! Boy-O-Boy are you good. Two legends showing us some good stuff.
Love the animated SOTL stuff – really punches it up. Ending with the DS9 promenade – geez! Great set and you end with one of the best closing scenes ever in TV.
Seeing the ships was great fun, but I really like watching a professional geek out like everybody else. Mr, Reed may still be ahead of you, but you making really good progress.
Thanks for posting. It was worth the wait. I so enjoyed the home movies of the sets of DS9. That was my first writing experience (and what a way to break into the business!!) and I was so in awe at the sets and all the work that went into that show. It really brings me back. It was the best time I ever had working on a series.
Please, more… any DS9 stuff hat you can dig up… I will even offer to bring my own shovel.
Holy smokes! That running battle between Allegiance and the Borg cube was amazing. Loved the sound effects, and it looked great too. How long did that take to put together?
Thank you again for sharing these amazing pictures into your life behind the scene of our favorite little show. Makes me kinda of wonder if we should be looking out when Blood and Chrome come out for a sharp shooter Cylone somewhere in the pack
21 min oh my!!
I indulged myself with a little gunslinging. Hope you don’t mind!
nope don’t mind at all XD
Mind, he asks. chimpy chortle.
Who does that? Where is anyone able to see this art-form done so well? Always a treat!
Mind, he asks. chimpy chortle.
That was a “daisy”!
I think I’ll survive. You were having so much fun there…
WOW
Awesome! Loved the fancy gun handling. You are superb at it Doug ! And to learn from the best is gotta be totally cool for you!
SotL…..wow! You all are so great at making these come alive!
DS9….great footage! Love the MST3K reference.

very odd I’ve had no issues.

silly question… you have the latest flash?
Not a silly question at all. Turns out I did not have the latest version on my system. Thanks for the tip!

~Mark~ SkiBo.
Curse you Badgers!!
Sadly, my Spartans came up short in that game, but it was a fantastic game!
Truth be told, we won this one like we lost the first one(against MI) . . . by the seat of our pants Mr.Matt, but thanks just the same.
Heh At least I know I’m not the only one from Michigan who snoops around here.
I missed the game….we lost huh? Another fan from Michigan here. Woohoo!
Excellent!

Gah! curse my “high-speed” DSL that the The Clubhouse came with here! Curses I say!
But well worth the download wait! Esp. love the Promenade Directory! A horde of inside-Trek and sci-fi geek gems! And Vince’s Gym no less! Aaa-some!
Tanks an’ airplanes for the fun ride, yet again, cap’n!
peace & a bunch o’ bananas for you | deg
Hey Doug! I know you have a very busy schedule, thanks for taking the time to post all this cool stuff!!
Where is that cool hat shop . . . . ?
Ending shot made me want to re-watch the DS9 series Finale

Thank you for sharing your home videos with us Doug! I really miss DS9…Hell I miss any kind of new Trek on the TV.
So, Doug, did you get your guns “de-burred”?
My comments:

Doug, I’d love to know the address of the old model shop. It would be fun to take a moment to see it next time I’m up in Beautiful Downtown Burbank.
Made me want to watch ‘The Quick and the Dead’! Boy-O-Boy are you good. Two legends showing us some good stuff.

Sweet gunslinging there, Doug! I laughed at the Oscar line at the end.
And always love seeing the SotL coming to life, someday would love to see a CD made of all the various clips.
Amazing. At the first glance I thought your gunslinging was a visual effect until I became aware that you really know how to do it!!
Geez, all that good stuff and the part that has me grinning like an idiot is “Tom Servo’s Used Robots” ^_^

(3) Baron Hats – I own their Kolchak Birdfeeder Darren McGavin special!
(4) A pleasure seeing two grown men having so much ear-to-ear-grinning fun
(5) I miss Deep Space Nine. *sigh*
Thanks for putting these together for us, Doug. On Earth, you’re a prince … with power over millions …
They sell a Kolchak hat!!!! Wow!!!
Must. Buy. Hat.

An homage to ‘Redeye’ from that one episode of the original BSG series!
:: groan :: I had done so well to forget that episode until now! Haha!
More gun slinging blog posts please!
