The Suliban Cruiser, a two pronged arrowhead of a spaceship.
As we move forward, filling out the Suliban inventory of spacecraft, we come upon the cruiser class. More a conventional Eaves design, but no less satisfying. The most identifiably Suliban characteristic is the ruddy color which originated with the Suliban standard wardrobe. In previous Trek’s, this color was on the Ferengi side, which originated with the Ferengi skin tone. Built by Pierre Drolet.

Wow, comparing the underside featuring the small octagonal recess with the screenshot showing the shuttlecraft under that docking recess, I only now realize how big that stealth-cruiser actually was. Thanks for providing us with those shots!
No kidding, Jorg! The orthos don’t really give you a sense of how big this thing is until you see it with the shuttle there. Love the panel details in the hull! Gives it a sort of industrial look.
I like the way it’s pretty straightforward, yet looks so pleasing to the eye. I think its the angles that make it somewhat different. The front, back and side views make it look deceptively small, which is cool. Just a flying wedge from those angles.
Jörg, which episode are the caps from? They don’t look familiar…then again, I probably missed a couple of them during the first run and have only caught some of them in reruns.
The Pics are labelled ‘Shockwave’, but I don’t remember this either, and I just watched the whole series a couple ofmonths ago.
Ah, it might be helpful I had the patience to hover over a pic long enough!
Shockwave is a two part season bridge, and I recently saw it the first part DVRd on Sci Fi but the second half didn’t record! Oh the agony!!
actually, I’m not sure it was a season bridge…I take that back!
Shockwave Part I, when they board the cruiser to get the Suliban data discs proving they didn’t blow up the Peraagan colony!
It was. ‘Shockwave, Part 2′ opened the second season.
Ah, so I wasn’t losing my mind then.
I just figured I should check these things rather than just rattle off what’s in my head.
Very cool design, though. Wasn’t always a big fan of John Eaves’ Space Beetle aesthetic, but it works here.
I still wish we’d seen these things chasing the NX with cell ships attached to the slanty surfaces on the side, and then deploying them in a swarm at sublight. Ah well.
Suliban ships always had a minimalistic quality to them. I thought it was due to the future tech they were given.
When you see a Trek alien ship with a forked forend like that, watch out. Not many good guys flying around with those, it seems to me.
Oh, and also…this is faintly weathered, isn’t it? I almost didn’t notice on my first glance (and certainly could not have from the episode!).
Every time I saw the cruiser, I can’t help but to think of the Liberator Cruiser from the Star Wars games. :p
