So I guess I was wrong about the four cartoonists being a cover for some other job or a blackmail payoff or something. So what was the point of it? Was Gould satirizing something going on in the comic-strip industry at the time? Perhaps the tendency of some cartoonists to hire assistants to do “their” strips for them?

I kinda wondered why that strip seemed a little out of place, but, now that you’ve mentioned it, I feel that I’m stretching to make it pertinent to the situation.

It could be referring to the lack of reasoning that resulted in a waste of time and resources; is that what you’re seeing?

A very sad end indeed! I suppose after 46 years of self-punishment, death would seem like a welcome relief. Poor Jade! At least he can continue on knowing that he no longer has to keep that dark secret.

This was a great story and I’m a little sad it’s over! At least we still have more of the Moon people’s story!

The show must go on…dot, dot, dot, dot. Well, that’s sad chapter that has come to a close for Jade. Dick said they consider the case closed. Does it ever come up again?
