I didn’t know Gil was in a Phase II episode, I just knew he was going to show up in the new Buck Rogers web series James Cawley will be launching. Fun!

What a hoot to see Gil in a Star Trek uniform, and not just on the bridge but posing in the Captain’s chair! :) Andrew must have been having a rollicking good time, huh?

I like as Capt. Kirk, and the fact that no reboot is necessary is a *great* thing! Original Trek will live on and on and on!!

The elusive Commodore Probert as mentioned in TMP finally makes his appearance? :D

How awesome that Gil Gerard is guesting, too. Commodore Rogers? I guess he finally got promoted from Captain. ;)

Finally! An on-camera appearance by COMMODORE PROBERT! Huzzah! Double Huzzah! TRIPLE Huzzah!

That is better than awesome. I truly heart James Cawley. He’s the King of the County as far as I’m concerned.

NO REBOOT REQUIRED! Ha! I love it, Doug! I don’t care who gets pissy over it! :)

“Commodores, Admirals, Captains all…” And I think the rest of the quote is “except Finney.”

Gerard looks like he’s enjoying the big chair. Admiral Probert apparently is one of the more distinguished looking higher echelons at Starfleet Command. Must be the beard.

This is on so many levels of cool. It’s just…. fraking awesome!

Is “Blood and Fire” part 2 ready for download yet? I can’t wait to see it and the upcoming eps!

Nice, I watched every episode of Buck Rogers when I was a wee lad, I had the biggest crush on Wilma..nice to see Gil in Star Trek.

Wilma was hard to resist. Yowza.

Princess Ardalla was nothing to snooze at either.

And the original Athena on Battlestar Galactica.

Oh and Princess Aura from the Dino DeLaurentis Flash Gordon. Ornella Muti I think her name is …? Whew!

    Okay, somebody stop me.

That is an awesome photo! I’ve been watching the Buck Rogers eps on DVD lately. Looking at it now it’s obvious they were working with limited resources, but I still find the show as entertaining as ever. It’s good to see Gil Gerard again, and Mr. Probert makes a good admiral. One wonders when Mr. Drexler will make an on-screen appearance, or will the phrase be, “Commodores, Admirals, Captains all…except for Drexler and his busy schedule,”?

Jay, I thought you had a big interest in sci fi and ships, but now I see you’ve been tuning in for the female type of eye candy!! :D

Great stuff to have Andy and Gil show up

One thing JC has over the other fan productions is his ability to get Hollywood types to put in guest appearances

Star Trek definitely lives, and forget about the Re-boot

    What can I say, De – I’m a renaissance man ;)

@ Buckaroohawk – I also semi-recently re-watched Glen Larson’s Buck Rogers series and while I thought the abbreviated second season was for the most part pretty dour and trying to take itself too seriously, that first season is an absolute hoot. Campy as platform shoes but completely fun and entertaining.

  16. June 19, 2009 at 2:31 pm

Andy makes a great shoe-in for Mr. Scott and he looks great in uniform! :)

You’ve got it, Doug! Kudos for the giant sledgehammer swing you took to that wall. It’s passionate and dedicated folks like you that keep ST flyin’ steady as she goes.

Actually, it you go back and look at the infamous Cal Richter, er, Strickland viewscreen scene in the NV “lost” pilot, you might catch a certain aide-de-camp with a clipboard to sign … !!

Doug needs to captain his own starship. The U.S.S. Constitution maybe. I’d watch that for a green back dollar.

Wow, Gil Gerard. I loved Buck Rodgers when I was a kid. (As well as BSG, Trek, and Star Wars).

In fact, the Searcher inspired me years later in creating one of my own starship designs. Though over the years it evolved into something more alien. :D

don’t like the new Trek? Make your own! Good stuff, I was proud to be able to contribute to New Voyages myself. While the style of the acting and writing is perhaps a bit too much like the blandness I associate with series like Voyager or Enterprise, I still think its a fantastic effort. Well done.

  28. June 20, 2009 at 3:23 am

It is nice seeing Andy Probert and Gil Girard on the bridge with James Cawley. The uniforms and set looks great. Two thumbs up.

Actually, I hope Max Rem does a guest appearance in a future Phase II episode. He is much better looking than Doug. No offense Mr. Drexler. However, Max’s legendary off-camera exploits are are a potential minefield we’d have to navigate, I still have a scare where he threw an empty vodka bottle at me, screaming, “Get off your duff, Lil’ Lord Fauntleroy, and get me some more Grey Goose!” It was a nightmare. Again, he is one of the best CGI artists and illustrators I know. :)

Jeff! Rem forgets that I found him a gutter in Far Zamboanga. He forgets the time I carried him out of that rice paddy in South East Asia. He forgets the time I performed that emergency apendectomy on him while riding F train from Queens. Anyone who likes to hang around the men’s room “taking in the smells”, and trimming his toenails over a pot of stew, bears watching.

    Ooh! Awesome! :D

Hmm, a ship for Doug? *ponder ponder* Constitution class would be about right, for some reason I do think for him it should be a refit one.

Very cool shot. Yet another reason to look forward to “Kitumba”! I’m already really looking forward to that episode, and watching for the cameos from Andy Probert and Gil Gerard will be that much more cool.

“Reboot not required.” Heheh. Bloody straight. Never was, IMHO. :)

    Best,
    Alex

    Okay…okay….

So I’ve *finally* gotten around to checking this show out after hearing about it for so long.

    Dude, it rocks!

Looking forward to many more episodes.

I couple of years ago I had a picture made with Mr Gerard holding a TOS Phaser. I never ever thought I would see him with a TOS outfit. Great photo.
