Just listen to Sammy’s singing while looking at the picture and you can easily imagine the scene as one of a lazy evening with shuttles flying by and a crooner singing away in the tower on the left.
A classic example of sound and vision coming together to create a “feel”.
That beautiful starbase makes me wish Flushing Meadow Park had been better maintained. I haven’t been back in awhile, but I spent a lot of hours biking around what was left of that World’s Fair.
I’m told I was taken to that fair when I was five. Wish I could remember that.

Thanks Doug!
Two Traveler’s Insurance pavilions + Johnson’s Wax Golden rondelle + a smattering of towers from the New York state exhibit = Starbase 11!
Gotta love the 1964-65 Fair.
Johnny D! Nice Job!
These two things go together perfectly.
Barrie is right, it’s just the right mood.
I like the tie in man!
Oh man, I didn’t recognize the buildings…thanks Johnny D! Love this eye candy, Doug.
I thought this might be the New Las Vegas colony on Wrigley’s Pleasure Planet.
Love it! Just a lazy beat night down by the transport docks at Starbase 11!
