Hi gang! Apologies, as I have been among the missing for a few days. Gary just got the word that a show we thought was dead is now on the fast track. It’s Ron Moore’s “Virtuality”. It just goes to show you how this business goes. It was dead, dead, dead… now it’s alive, alive, alive… and they want it now, now, now! So on top of the “BSG” direct to DVD movie, and “Caprica”, we are racing to finish a few additional shots for Virtuality’s July airing. So forgive my absence. I’ll be posting again on Saturday, and picking up some steam after that, although probably not at the rate I was before “Virtuality” rose from the dead. If I missed answering your comments, my appy-polly-logies! I’ll be going over them on Saturday morning. Hope you are all well! – Doug
P.S. – There is no word on a series.
The check-in is appreciated, Doug, but the apology is unnecessary. Go make more Good Stuff!
Go Doug-O Go!
LLP,
deg
You’re the moodge my droogie. Have fun.
I wondered where you’d got to, Doug. Not impatiently, I just hoped you were okay. Glad to hear you’re good and Virtuality’s a go.
That’s great news! Virtuality sounded interesting – but here’s the thing: there were reports that Fox wanted something a bit more conventional, a “more mainstream” drama than RDM’s concept allowed. I’m guessing you probably can’t comment on that. . .
Go get ‘em, slugger!
I had heard the ‘pilot’ was going to be shown 4th of July but they were not going to series. Does this mean there’ll be a series now?
Ramming speed.
Thanks for the heads-up and congratulations on Virtuality being given a chance after all.
Sadly Science Fiction on Fox is usually pearls before swine.
Oh I see.. Get me hooked on Dick Tracey..then leave me squirming for the next installment. Just like in the comic strip days…waiting for next weeks printing!
You Rock Doug. Keep Kicking some VFX Butt!!!
Gooch
Fly, Big D, fly!! Oh that was Red October.
Fits, though, huh?
Gooch, I’ve been checking in for Tracy stuff, too. But I figure as long as Doug’s okay, I can wait…heck, it’s been 40+ years already!
As always, “Feast or famine.” Go get ‘em, Doug!
I wondered if that might be the case! I’m glad to hear that while it keeps you busy, you’re getting more opportunity to flex those awesome VFX skills!
Glad to hear Doug-o is busy
Doug
No apology needed. We all know you’re working ( a very good thing these days).
Of course the more you work the more stuff you’ll have to post!
Yep! Figured it’d be work related!!
Didn’t stop me checking in about 20 times though!
(that’s a conservative estimate – haha!)
Go Speed Racer Go!
Glad to hear all is well, Doug.
Good to see you back doug.Virtuality sounds interesting, but BSG direct to dvd movie.Whats that all about?.I’m a MASSIVE BSG fan, you’ve’peaked’ my curiosity. All the best.Phil
Phil — the BSG DVD movie is THE PLAN, directed by Edward James Olmos from a script by jane Espenson. and it’s basically follows the Cylon side from the miniseries onwards. It was shot after the end of the series and has an October air date on SciFi if I recall the details correctly; it’ll hit DVD right afterwards.
So is it actually going to series now?
Hi Paul! No decision has been made on a series yet.
Good to know Virtuality is back on the boards – I read the pilot script and really enjoyed it. I did hear a rumour that the pilot was going to be cut for length, though. Any truth to that?
Keep up the great work Doug-O.
The gang will still be around.
Mark
Glad you had good news.
Good you back,
The DC
