Admiral’s Shuttle Graphics

Admiral_Shuttle_reference

Rick just reminded me that Geoff Mandel did the unusual graphics on Admiral Janeway’s shuttle. Here is the sheet Geoff prepared for Eden Effects. Gee, I’ve known Geoff for 35 years now, and I still think of him as “The kid”. Geoff is currently doing scenic for the TV show “Madmen”.

Nice melding of the traditional Starfleet arrowhead and the “boomerang” from the original Enterprise markings!

I like how that logo is still visible with deployed armor, as an embossed element.

I like the blue and gold. I’ve been using it on my own fan art. Also cause it’s the Navy’s colors.

Mike and Jörg, my thoughts exactly! Veerryy nicely done! Love the mixed emblem, and it’s awesome on the plating. Hats off to Mr. Mandel to create special graphics for Rick’s special shuttle.

Oh! I didn’t catch that infusion initially! Thanks for pointing that out! Great colors!

Very cool. You used a similar blue(/gold?) style on the ENT Admiral’s Shuttle, right?

Hah, I never even noticed the infusion of the new delta and the old Bomerang!

I really like the idea of using royal blue on dignitories shuttles and ships too, just gives the ships that finishing touch.

I’ve always admired this design, but never noticed the “swoop” before.

Were these types of diagrams made for most designs that were sent off to be CGed?
