Flyover!

NASA pilots Jack Nickel (in the jet with tail number 62) and Charles Justiz fly over for a bird’s eye view of two shuttles on the launch pad. Shuttle Atlantis is in the foreground and Endeavour can be seen in the distance on the launch pad at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. The two are flying T-38 jet trainer aircraft.

Now that is cool. That would make a great poster. Even better if it was wall sized.:)

When did they ever manage to have two shuttles on the pad and (presumably) ready to go? It must be photoshopped! 8)

    Fantastic!

There are two shuttles on the pad at this very moment. Atlantis, ready for mission STS-125, the Hubble repair flight scheduled for launch on May 11th. On the other pad is Endeavour, standing by in case it is needed to execute STS-400 for a rescue mission.

That has GOT to be thee coolest aerial aircraft shot I have EVER seen in my entire life, Doug!

Thanks, Doug! Know where to get a really hi-rez version of it? Was there one where you got this one? I wants that shot in me desktop rotation eh.

    Cool shot.

It does kind of bring to mind the current hullabaloo about the NYC Air Force One flyover photo-op. Same kind of shot set-up. Obviously different results.

So, Doug? Mike?, is this shot from today? It’s got the same shuttles on the pads as Mike said were ready to go.

I LOVE seeing both of them ready and “patiently” waiting. I can almost feel them straining to get off the ground…this is what they were born to do! Cool pic!!

Side note, hopefully Endeavor will NOT be taking off for the rescue mission.

Oh wow! That is awesome! I want to make it down there someday and seeing this makes that desire even greater!

What a great shot! It’s even better when the pads are full. :)
