flea_beauty

Starfleet Intelligence is looking for information on this vessel.

It was first spotted two months ago by the captain of a trading schooner, and again two weeks later by an unmanned drone.

Hmmm… looks strangely familiar. It reminds me of that Romulan ship from Enterprise season 4, the one that had the holographic camouflage thing that could make it look like any ship.

As soon as I saw it in Enterprise I thought it was very reminiscent of a ship that appears in the Voyager game “Elite Force”.

It’s a re-use of the strange alien ship from “The fight”, a cool design!

Joe Ralat, could this be Herbie the Love Bug Ship?

“Don’t know who they are, or where they’re from, but those are the bastards that almost took out our warp drive in the Rigel system a few months back. We were in a parking orbit waiting to off-load cargo when this thing just warps in from nowhere and brushes their field up against ours. Overloaded most of our systems, including the drive and life-support. Before we could get our sensors back up, they were gone again. Fortunately the Starfleet cutter USS Akula was nearby and gave us a hand rebooting our ship before the life-support had totally gone tits-up. If anyone knows where this ship is, all I’m asking is five uninterrupted minutes and a charged phaser bank.”

Looks like this could be it:

I brightened up a screencap from The Aenar…

Those Romulans, always meddling in galactic politics…

  10. April 29, 2009 at 7:12 pm

No, I doesn’t have the colour scheme and the add-ons on the hull from “The Aenar”. It’s closer to the original design from “The fight”, but the colour scheme seems to be a little off too.

Right the Romulan “flea” ship. Cool design!

Don’t remember the one from The Fight, but I figured that Drex’s pic was an early render, not the final design.

“As you recall from your histories, this conflict was fought, by our standards today, with primitive atomic weapons and in primitive space vessels which allowed no quarter, no captives. Nor was there even ship-to-ship, visual communication; therefore, no human, Romulan, or ally has ever seen the other. Earth believes the Romulans to be warlike, cruel, treacherous… and only the Romulans know what they think of Earth. The treaty, sent by subspace radio, established this Neutral Zone, entry into which by either side would constitute an act of war. The treaty has been unbroken since that time…”

No problem, Doug. Capt. Tsuchida has a tendency to embellish her reports from time to time, but I think she probably hit this one on the nose.

Excellent ship, although my memory is vague as to it’s origin.

Too much fun to be had here. Thanks for the smile, Doug!

Mysterion, you stole my idea, but did a much better job than I would… :)

    Alex, nice little graphic

    Greg, Love Bug? Cute!

Jörg, thanks for the link, as always

And where is deg and his classic comment?

Doug – thanks, I’ll pass your good wishes along. :)

DeanneM – Thank you. I think I might have the beginning of a fan-fic there…

Deanne, as I cannot accept thanks for a link, because I did not post one. So, here comes a screenshot of the Flea ship from “The fight”, so all is well again ;-)

It was a really cool and alien design, together with the Night aliens ship, which was organic and truly alien too. I’m looking forward to more you can tell and show about the design Doug, be it the VOY original or the ENT/Romulan modification. :-)

Oh, say it ain’t so, Joe! I actually got the first letter right, but it would be Joe that I owe that thanks to.

Now I can thank you for reals, Jörg. :D

Great design…it reminds me somewhat of the Narada in the upcoming movie.

    Cute lil’ buggy ship, eh.
