“Our daughter was born this morning at 8:08 Eastern and was a healthy 19 1/2 inches, 7 lbs 5.6 oz. All fingers and toes appear to be in the right places! (I’m home to put our son down for a nap and then it’s back to the hospital so he can meet his baby sister!)”
- Congrats to Matt Boardman and his wife!
Congratulations, Matt and wife! And welcome to the world, new baby!
Well there ya go eh, big Congrats to you and your wife on your newest addition Matt!

I suggest “McSkirk”, a combo of McCoy, Spock, and Kirk.
Congrats, Matt!!! My family wishes your little girl health and happiness!!!
How about Picriksher (Picard, Riker & Crusher), or maybe Worfard? Datsher? Pidata? Oooh, ooh I got it… Romisko (Rom and Sisko)? Nershir? Jado?
Ok, back in the cave I go. Congrats are in order…Hip Hip Hooray!
I suggest “McSkirk”, a combo of McCoy, Spock, and Kirk.
Hmmmmm, I’m sure if you and Dorth ever did talk about kids names, just as a passing convo, she was doubly-sure at that point about not havin’ any. C is the same way when she asked me, and I said, Thor Conan Graves of course!
Always liked Niki for a lil’ gal’s name though. C was OK with that choice.

Congratulations!
Congratulations!
And considering the new addition to the family is a girl and the late Majel was a graceful and intelligent lady, “Christine” might be a tad better for the little one than “McSkirk”.
I actually was talking to a friend of mine’s pregnant sister the other day, who was in the office to go over some documents. She said she and her husband couldn’t settle on a name for their girl-to-be, so I’ll pass on my suggestion:
Lithia
*I* think its pretty. Nyah.
Thank you all so much!
Shortly before my son was born, I tried so very hard to convince my wife that we should name him Worf. I had some fun with that one and then moved on to others, James Tiberius, Riker, Jean-Luc, Leonard McCoy…until I was promptly told that I wasn’t funny any more. LOL!
This time, I received a premptive “No Star Trek names!” but I still managed to squeeze a few in here and there. In the end, we decided on Cadance Aurora and Cadee for short.
That’s very pretty.
Congratulations, Matt! Your family is blessed!
Very pretty choice indeed Matt. Very nice combo of first and middle names. I’ve always liked to hear that, as opposed to ridiculous no-flow kit-bashed name choices, like say, Thor Conan.

Congratulations! To a new generation of Trekkies!
Congrats, Matt! Those are two lovely names alone and even better together. I’m sure it was a tough choice not to go with any of the suggestions here, though…
Mine might’ve been “Sprikichtu”. Sounds like an Aztec god (or a Pokémon), but it’s a… um, beautiful/ name derived from the first officers of each Trek series. Maybe next time.
Congratulations …
How about Majel? Always sounded nice to me!
Congratulations!
Matt, once again my heartfelt congratulations to Aubrey, Bauer and yourself. I’m honoured that you included me in the celebration of this special day for you and your family.
And Doug, when Matt told me about your posting an entry on your blog to congratulate him on the birth of his baby girl, I just had to stop by and drop a note here as well. Although this is an entry about Matt’s special day, I did want to tell you what a class act you are in celebrating this news with your readers. I can tell you from talking to Matt that you just added to the wonderful memories he’ll have of this day.
Again, congratulations my dear friend. All my best to you and your growing family.
: )
I’m a little late with my 2 cents but, Congratulations! My friend had a daughter a few years ago and named her Kathryn after the best
female captain in Star Fleet.
Now this one you probably could have gotten by your wife, if you didn’t spell it for her first.
I do love the beautiful name you picked, though. Gorgeous name for a gorgeous young lady!!
My best wishes too. Since were are expecting our first-born in july this year, I too had the fun thought of bringing a few Star Trek names into the game. But so far, I haven’t really tried it because I already know the reaction
Cheers
Thorsten
Congratulation’s Matty !!!
Thank you all again so very much! I’m pretty excited about this little girl. Here’s a picture if anyone is interested.

Congrates Matt and wife.

I got to name my daughter Keira, though I wanted to name her Jadzia.
Congratulations. As a member of the Recently Overruled with baby names, you have my sympathy. And yeah, she’s adorable.
Many congrats to the new addition to the family.
